Sustainability Planning

Building on past project innovations, planning for campus sustainability has been a University goal since the adoption of the 2003 Comprehensive Campus Plan. This important issue has more recently become a larger institutional priority with actions such as the formation of a Campus Sustainability Committee and a commitment to a minimum of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification for new buildings.

PDC-Planning plays a key role in identifying, initiating, and demonstrating sustainability goals and actions for campus.

A number of resources exist on campus for sustainability:

Much of the "on the ground" work on sustainability on campus occurs within UA Business Affairs.

A good source for current information on campus sustainabiltiy is the UA Campus Sustainability Website

Overall guidance and policy for sustainability within our development practices can be found within the Comprehensive Campus Plan.

Information on sustainabilty efforts related to transportation on campus may be found in this presentation prepared by Parking and Transportation Services.

For information on LEED certification of projects and green elements of specific construction projects, see the Planning, Design and Construction Website
