PDC-Planning Mission The mission of Planning, Design, and Construction - Planning (PDC-Planning) is to provide The University of Arizona with efficient, customer-oriented, professional planning services in support of the short and long-range development of the campus physical and spatial environment. |
The University of Arizona has an estimated daytime campus population approaching 50,000 and a population density greater than many urban centers. Like cities, the University has a need to plan its future. PDC-Planning's mission and services focus on planning for future growth and development that is orderly, sustainable, and attractive.
PDC-Planning is the primary provider of campus and facilities planning services for a wide range of University of Arizona customers and projects. Our services include innovative land and advance project planning to improve the quality and function of the developing University campus. We work closely with other design disciplines and academic units and integrate with other institutional planning functions to ensure the development of high quality campus plans and projects. These services, carried out under the guidance of the Comprehensive Campus Plan, span a broad range of topics and activities such as land planning, locating new buildings, transportation, open space, surface water management, historic preservation, urban design, sustainability and environmental planning, mapping and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), public involvement, inter-jurisdictional coordination, capital project planning and budgeting, facilities programming, and project development concepts.
