  • HALL STRATEGY

La Paz follows an organization into 19 wing groups of about 25 students for a total population of 482. In the 219 doubles and 44 singles, one finds a total of 39 different room plans. Each wing has a "resident assistant" living on the wing corridor. Either two or three common bathrooms serve each wing and there are 11 different bathroom plans. At the time of this evaluation 15 wings were mixed gender with respective bathrooms and 4 wings were single gender. Bathroom furnishings throughout the setting are such that any wing or portion of wing may be used by either gender.

  • DINING FACILITIES

The University of Arizona traditionally does not include dining facilities in each of its residence halls. La Paz is one of the closest halls to centralized UA dining facilities in the student union where students may participate in a meal plan called "All Aboard".

  • OTHER FUNCTIONS

The La Paz setting also includes a computer lab, administered by others, on the southwest corner of the site. The Residence Hall Director has his/her own apartment on the first floor off of the Sol Courtyard, and a second apartment intended for visiting scholars and the like exists off of the Luna Courtyard. Offices located in the southwest corner of Luna Courtyard relate to larger UA Residence Life administration and not to La Paz itself. The La Paz office for director and RA's lies to the north of Luna Courtyard next to the laundry room. A break room for the custodians is located on the northwest corner of the building.
